Supermac Industries (India) Ltd.: Tie-up With SIMPACKS Makes Supermac’s Cable Manufacturing Solutions Powerfully Comprehensive

With its recent tie-up with SIMPACKS (U.S.A.), Supermac is now able to provide complete solution for building wire and control cables with high speed insulation and high speed coiling. Supermac introduced Simpack’s coiling machines in the CWF 2017, which were highly required by the Indian wire and cable industry. With this tie-up, Supermac’s offering are now not only complete but are globally competitive too.

SupermacEstablished in 1974, Supermac, a solution provider for the cable industry, supplies high end manufacturing systems and process technologies, not to mention its highly appreciated extrusion systems. The company has three advanced manufacturing facilities located in Manesar and New Delhi, altogether covering an area up to 95,000 square feet, which has further increased to 110000 sft. The zeal to establish itself as a market leader has made Supermac to vision itself as a leader with in-house panel making, automation and testing facilities. Further, a team of specialized engineers enable the company to handle commissioning and installation tasks of varying complexities.

Supermac has recently tied up with SIMPACKS to represent them in Indian and South Asian market. SIMPACKS is specialized coiling machine manufacturer and by incorporating this high speed coiling machine, Supermac will be able to offer the complete solution with coiling machine to building wire manufacturers in India and abroad.

WCI recently had a brief interaction with Mr. Jasvinder Singh, Managing Director, Supermac Industries (India) Ltd. at Interwire. Excerpts:

WCI: Please introduce your company and tell us what is new at your company’s end.

JS: We are extrusion machine manufacturers, supplying to almost all the cable industries in India as well as Middle East, and expanding towards Africa and America at this moment. In the international exhibition Cable & Wire Fair 2017, we have introduced our new partners SIMPACKS, the coiling machine manufacturers. The USP of their machines is that it can do 6-7 coils per minute, which is the immediate requirement of the Indian cable industry. This is what we have introduced in this year’s CWF.

WCI: What do you intend to achieve by this alliance with Simpacks in terms of technology and market reach?

JS: We have tied up with SIMPACKS to represent them in Indian and South Asian market. They are specialized coiling machine manufacturer and by incorporating this high speed coiling machine, we will offer to supply the complete solution with coiling machine to building wire manufacturers in India and abroad. Earlier, the industry was using multiple coiling machines to match the productivity of our high speed insulation line. However, by incorporating this high speed coiling machine, industry can save upon spending on multiple machines, space, labour, and energy.

The core focus of Supermac is to keep developing new products and constantly adding new services. By introducing SIMPACKS and its products to Indian market, Supermac has again upgraded the building wire manufacturing process and made it more productive and profitable for manufacturers. Supermac always believes in introducing world class technology and making it compatible to Indian scenario.

WCI: As a provider of process technologies and manufacturing systems for cable industries worldwide, what are your major observations regarding the state of technology in the Indian cable industry and how do your solutions address the most persistent bottlenecks faced? (If possible cite examples and solutions proposed by you)

JS: The technology in the Indian cable industry essentially was not matching the international standard in terms of high speed. We are offering extrusion lines that are almost at par with the output/line speed offered by the international machinery manufacturers, and our prices very competitive if compared to the international machine suppliers. We offer the best combination of technical and commercial feasibility. For this, we are using some imported measuring and control instruments. We have adopted all the available new technologies in our extrusion and insulation lines, which have in-built latest control systems.

WCI: Supermac has gradually risen to become a machine maker of global acclaim unlike its peers in India. What does make Supermac a truly global company? In what ways is Supermac different from its peers?

JS: For a long time, we have been participating in specialized international exhibitions for wires and cables and therefore we have always tried to compete with international manufacturers of machinery. With other machinery manufacturers in India, our attitude has always been one of cooperation and not of competition. As technocrats, our focus has always been on latest technology and development to meet the latest.

WCI: This was the second time that Supermac participated in the CWF show. Can you please tell us about the response from the visitors you received?

JS: The quality of the visitors was surely good. In this year, we witnessed genuine customers and I would like to say, this show even surpassed the last one, which was also good for a first edition. The exhibition, I am sure, is going to grow stronger with every coming edition.
