Associated Machinery Corp. Ltd.: Capable and Cost Effective Machines

“Our company is competing successfully in international markets with its low-cost, efficient machines, and even has forced many machine manufacturers, who were charging exorbitant prices, to close their firms,” says Mr. R.P. Tyagi, Director, Associated Machinery Corp. Ltd.

AMCO was founded in late sixties to meet the growing needs of modern wire industry. Within a short span of time, the company has achieved a singular distinction of being among the first ones to develop high technology to suit the third world conditions and economy. AMCO’s stature as the trend setter in wire technology has now become legend. The company has an array of sophisticated wire plants installed all around the globe. Today, AMCO’s established credo of staying ahead in wire technology has reached a sophisticated level of expression. It produces machines for the production of all sorts of wire in all dimensions for all materials capable to be drawn.

Associated 1Associated 2WCI recently spoke to Mr. R.P. Tyagi, Director, Associated Machinery Corp. Ltd. Excerpts:

Wire and Cable India: Share your experiences of three decades of machine making.

R.P. Tyagi: We started the company for manufacturing wire machinery since there was a huge demand for low cost, efficient machines. Foreign machines at the time were high-priced due to heavy duty structure. We then started making such low cost technologies which could meet their day-to-day requirements. There were few companies who were manufacturing technology for the wire and cable industry but couldn’t meet the customer’s requirement. We stepped into to do the needful and tried to satisfy the emerging demand for such cost-effective technologies.

During the 30 years of manufacturing machines for the wire and cable industry, we learned that quality control is not the only part of the machinery which should be taken care of. But rather, the customer’s proper requirement and timely delivery are also crucial. No overpriced machinery should be supplied to the buyer. Thus, there should be a fair balance between a manufacturer and a customer.

WCI: As a machine maker, none can understand the utility of latest technology better than you. Please give us your views about the adoption of latest technology by elaborating your own technological adherence at your manufacturing facilities.

RPT: We are quite particular when it comes to supplying high rated machinery within a stipulated time period. Quality of our products is also excellent, the reason being strict control and supervision of the chairman of AMCO. Our company is competing successfully in international markets with its low-cost, efficient machines, and even has forced many machine manufacturers, who were charging exorbitant prices, to close their firms.

WCI: What are the major destinations overseas for your export activities? Presently, what’s the ratio of domestic vs. overseas supply?

RPT: For the last 48 years, AMCO has been the manufacturer and exporter of wire manufacturing machines. We are supplying to African and Middle East countries, USA, USSR, and so on. The capital investment is varying from time-to-time depending upon the taxation policies of the countries, which sometimes may not suit the industry.

We are engaged in the manufacturing of all types of wire drawing machines for power cables and other metal drawing. We also manufacture and export high quality wire drawing machinery for the manufacturers of ferrous and non ferrous wire along with the latest technology in animation of high speed machinery – from bull block to super fine wire drawing machines and straight line wire drawing machines. The company has achieved a singular distinction of being among the first ones to develop high technology to suit the third world conditions and economy.
