Delta Electronics (India) started with a small setup in 1991. Since then, it has been flourishing and booming in the domain of manufacturing and supplying supreme quality of electrical & electronics wires, cables, molded cords, and spiral cords under the brand of Deltacab. Wire & Cable India recently interviewed, Mr. Aakarsh Khandhar, CEO, Deltacab, wherein he dives into the product portfolio catering to the healthcare segment and reveals his future plans.

Wire & Cable India: Please shed some light on the cables made by Delta Electronics (India) for the healthcare segment.

Aakarsh Khandhar: Delta Electronics (India) was established in 1991. Since then, we design, manufacture and supply wires, cables and molded cords based on government standards.  These products are globally accredited among our clients for their longevity, accurate performance, reliable and durable nature. The company has CE – ISI – RoHS – ISO – ISO certifications for designing.

Some of the products manufactured by us include nose bridge wires for N-95 masks and surgical masks (RoHS), spiral coiled cords for hospital beds (RoHS) (CE), spiral coiled cords for medical instruments. (RoHS) (CE), spiral coil cords for static energy ( Safety cords) (RoHS) (CE), copper screened cable for medical Instrument (RoHS) (CE), flat travelling cables for hospital elevators (RoHS) (CE), cable for CCTV for surveillance purpose (RoHS), 2-pin & 3-pin moulded cords for power supply of medical instruments(ISI) (RoHS) (CE), instrumentation wires & cables for penal board used for hospital (ISI) (RoHS) (CE), special designed cable as per customer specification (tailor-made)

WCI: Are you planning any new addition to your product range in the near future?

AK: We are adding new products as per the demands and requirements. The demand for N95 masks has gone up after COVID-19 pandemic. We have entered into the manufacturing of nose clip wire for nose masks. We are planning to get UL Certifications for our products and harness cables for medical and surgical instruments (hospital grade) in near future. We will also introduce electrosurgical pencil soon.

WCI: Could you please define the global presence of Deltacab medical cables?

AK: We specialize in designing and provide solutions for all types of flexible cables, cords, spiral cords and flat travelling cables. Currently, we have a well-planned production unit and PAN India coverage, and deep-rooted customer base. Our complete product range is manufactured from quality tested raw materials and is made in conformity with the international standards set up for these products. This ensures their strength to deliver long-lasting high level of performance. Hence, our products are in great demand internationally. Since 2016, we have been exporting to UAE and Africa.

WCI: What other industries do you cater to? How much market share are you aiming for developing such cables in India?

AK: Delta Electronics (India) derives its strengths from its customers. Our Customer satisfaction is its prime objective. The cables, wires and cords that we offer have numerous applications in the telecommunication industry, elevator industry, healthcare industry, electrical and electronic projects, medical equipment, testing equipment, construction areas. With the aid of a specialized and highly experienced workforce we put forward our earnest efforts to produce products that meet the needs of our clients suitably. We also offer our customers sampling schemes.

We are planning to acquire at least 20 – 25 percent by 2025.

WCI: What has been the impact of the pandemic on your business?

AK: The impact, subject to profit was negative, but in the pandemic, we became a major manufacturer of N-95 masks and surgical masks. It opened a new opportunity for us. We manufacture nose bridge wire of 200000 metres (for twenty lakh masks approximately) per day to mainly support to mask manufacturers, who have to supply against the demands. We are proud to have done something for our country at the time of COVID pandemic.
