In addition to conventional tungsten carbide dies, Mikrotek has now added Special Mikrotek Tungsten Carbide Dies to its portfolio. Abbreviated as “Special Mikrotek Tungsten Carbide” Dies, these dies are widely used for drawing ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy wires. In ferrous drawing applications, SMTC dies have drawn more kilometres of wire at higher speeds compared to conventional TC dies.

The SMTC die is free from impurities and has high degree of polishing. It is reliable for a higher number of recuts and ensures tight tolerance. With high wear resistance, the die is ideal for withstanding rough and tough drawing conditions. Such features make SMTC die a preferred choice among steel wire drawing companies.

The nibs for SMTC are sintered with 100 percent virgin raw materials and consist of 94 percent of submicron grain size tungsten powder mixed with binder cobalt. Mikrotek has an entire range of nibs as per DIN standards (10×8, 13×10, 15×13, 17×15, 19×17, 22×18, 25×20, 30×24, 40×24, 45×25, and 50×25). All the nibs are sintered with pre-profile, which helps in the quick finishing of the dies.
