HFCL becomes O-RAN Alliance Member to boost up Open Innovation in 5G

HFCL will continue to invest in developing a complete portfolio of solutions for 5G Radio Access Network and 5G transport equipment.

HFCL says that the purpose of becoming an O-RAN Alliance member is to accelerate open innovation in 5G.

HFCL Ltd. has announced that it has joined the O-RAN Alliance, which is a global community of mobile network operators, vendors, research, and academic institutions in the Radio Access Network (RAN) industry. The key mission of the O-RAN Alliance is to reshape and transform the RAN industry towards more intelligent, open, virtualised, and fully interoperable mobile networks.

As a member of this association, the focus will be on contributing to standards that ensure a truly open and multi-vendor RAN network, HFCL said in a statement.

The company further added that the purpose with which it has onboarded O-RAN Alliance is to accelerate open innovation in 5G.

It will invest in developing a complete portfolio of solutions for 5G Radio Access Network and 5G transport equipment.

Speaking on their recent membership in O-RAN Alliance, Mr. Mahendra Nahata, Managing Director of HFCL Ltd., remarked, “We are excited to be a part of the O-RAN Alliance and look forward to work with alliance members to realise the benefits of O-RAN.”

Also, open networking based on a well-defined architecture and pre-validated solution will enable the operators to have increased supplier diversity, accelerate innovation, reduce CapEx and OpEx while also ensuring quick rollout of 5G networks, Nahata further added.
