Funding of GBP 30 million has been secured, with GBP 25 million from Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), UAE, and GBP 5 million from Octopus Energy Group, UK.

The project will source renewable energy from a 10.5 GW facility of solar and wind farms, aided by 5 GW of battery storage, in Morocco, and transport the power through four 3,800-kilometer (2,361-mile) subsea cables to serve about 8 percent of the UK’s power demand.
