Adani Energy to Commission Underground Section of Mumbai HVDC Project by Early 2026

Adani Energy Solutions will commission the underground cable section of its INR 7,000 crore Mumbai HVDC transmission project by early 2026. The project spans 80 km, connecting the 400 kV Kudus substation to the 220 kV Aarey substation.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) is on track to commission the underground component of its High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission project in Mumbai by early 2026. This section comprises a 50 km Extra High Voltage (EHV) underground cable stretch between the Shirsad Transition Station and the Aarey EHV Station.

The Mumbai HVDC project is being implemented by Adani Electricity Mumbai Infra Ltd. (AEMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. (AEML). With a total investment of about INR 7,000 crore, the project spans 80 km, connecting the 400 kV Kudus substation to the 220 kV Aarey substation. Of this, 50 km will be underground and 30 km will be overhead lines.

Designed to transmit 1,000 MW of electricity, the project is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Mumbai’s power supply infrastructure and meeting the city’s growing energy demand.
