The project consists of approximately 100 circuit kilometres of twin HTLS transmission lines linking the Gadag and Koppal power stations. The transmission line has been developed as part of the infrastructure supporting the Koppal Solar Energy Zone, which has an estimated generation potential of about 1,500 megawatts. The project was implemented under a Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) framework and is designed to facilitate the transfer of solar power from the renewable energy zone to the national grid.
Delivered under challenging terrain and right-of-way conditions, the project strengthens grid connectivity in the region and supports the reliable transmission of solar power to the national grid.
This project was followed by the 400kV LILO project for Torrent Power Grid Ltd in Gujarat which involved execution of 240 ckm of HTLS line, including three crossings of the Sabarmati River and several critical road crossings in the urban vicinity of Ahmedabad.
