Karnataka to Set Up 300-Acre Data Centre Park in Tavarekere

The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) will acquire 1,000 acres, of which 250–300 acres will be allocated for this park. The project will adopt a hub-and-spoke model, featuring a high-capacity GW-scale data centre linked with multiple 25–30 MW edge data centres, across cities like Mysuru, Hubballi, Belagavi, and more.

The Karnataka government is set to establish a 300-acre data centre park in Tavarekere, near Hoskote and Kolar, within the state to meet the growing data infrastructure needs.

The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) will acquire 1,000 acres, of which 250–300 acres will be allocated for this park. 

Mr. Sharath Bache Gowda, Chairman of Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (KEONICS), stated that the project will adopt a hub-and-spoke model, featuring a high-capacity GW-scale data centre linked with multiple 25–30 MW edge data centres across cities like Mysuru, Hubballi, Belagavi, and more.

The initiative aims to boost regional digital network and data innovation beyond Bengaluru, supporting the digital economy. There is strong interest from both domestic and global players, with support from IT and other industry departments.
