KEI Industries has launched commercial production at its new Sanand cable plant, marking a major step in its nationwide capacity expansion strategy.

KEI Industries has commenced the first phase of commercial production at its greenfield cable manufacturing unit in Sanand, Ahmedabad. The new facility, located in the Sanand-II BOL Engineering Industrial Estate, began operations on December 10, 2025, and is currently producing LT and HT cables as part of the company’s multi-phase expansion plan.

This development follows earlier disclosures under SEBI Listing Regulations outlining KEI’s significant capex programme to strengthen its presence in LT, HT and EHV cable segments. As of November 2025, the company had an annual capacity of 2,26,700 km of cables, 23,89,000 units of house wires, and 9,000 MT of stainless steel wires, with utilisation levels above 67% across products.

Once fully scaled, the Sanand project will add 60,732 km of cable capacity. The total investment for the project is around INR 2,000 crore, funded through QIP proceeds and internal accruals. KEI said the expansion will enable it to cater to growing demand in power infrastructure, real estate, and other high-growth sectors.
