Power Grid Corporation of India Limited Appoints Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan as CMD

Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan takes charge as CMD of PowerGrid, bringing over 33 years of experience in power transmission and telecom.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has appointed Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan as its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), effective April 1, 2026, following board approval and a Ministry of Power order.

He will serve in the role until July 31, 2030, or until further orders. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Director (Projects) at the company.

With over three decades of experience, Mohan has held key roles across projects, procurement, regulatory affairs, asset management, and telecom within PowerGrid. He was also instrumental in establishing the company’s regulatory framework and expanding its presence in competitive bidding.

He previously served as CEO of Powergrid Teleservices Limited, where he led telecom expansion and initiated the company’s first data centre project. His appointment marks a leadership transition aimed at strengthening PowerGrid’s growth, digital initiatives, and infrastructure expansion.
