Subbakrishna K S: Kennametal Inc., USA is a pioneer in the manufacturing of tungsten carbide products. With production facilities around the world, we deliver advanced solutions to our customers globally. With more than 20 new innovative products introduced and over 1,800 active patents worldwide, our Kennametal team continues to set industry benchmarks in technology, quality, and performance, providing solutions to industries, including aerospace, automotive, construction, defense, general engineering, medical, mining, oil and gas, process industries and transportation. The wire and cable sector is one part of these segments.

WCI: How does Kennametal push the boundaries in innovation and product development for the wire & cable industry?

SKS: We deliver specialised solutions for the tyre and spring manufacturing industry, with LRPC (Low Relaxation Pre-Stressed Concrete) wires being one of our major focus areas. Our high-performance carbide nibs are widely used in this segment to ensure precision, durability, and consistency in production.

At Cable & Wire Fair 2025, we showcased a comprehensive product line, including steel mill rolls, wire drawing pellets, bar drawing pellets, tube drawing pellets, pressure dies and wire drawing nibs. Each of these products is designed to withstand the severe wear conditions and mechanical stress in the wire and cable manufacturing environments.

WCI: Can you tell us about the current showcase in Cable & Wire Fair 2025?

SKS: We have a comprehensive product line tailored to meet the rigorous demands of wire drawing and forming processes. We plan to display steel mill rolls, wire drawing pellets, bar drawing pellets, tube drawing pellets and pressure dies. Also on display will be wire drawing nibs. Each of these products is designed to withstand the severe wear conditions and mechanical stresses common in wire and cable manufacturing environments.

WCI: How has your experience been at Cable & Wire Fair?

SKS: We’ve been pleased with the response and have generated high-quality leads. That’s been quite encouraging, and we’re optimistic about generating even more meaningful engagement as the event continues.
