WCI: Over the years, how have you seen India’s representation evolve at international trade fairs, and how do you contribute to strengthening India’s image as a global engineering hub?
AJ: India’s presence at global trade fairs has transformed significantly. Earlier, India was largely seen as a cost-driven manufacturing destination. Today, Indian companies are increasingly recognized for innovation and performance exports.
AEI Machines strives to contribute to this evolving image by consistently delivering equipment that meets evolving international benchmarks. With over 55 years of experience, we have been exporting rigid stranding and screening lines worldwide, and the proven performance and reliability of these machines have been instrumental in building the strong global reputation that we enjoy today.

Having strong support from Indian customers helps us learn and implement solutions quickly locally and also shields us from global demand shocks. We are leveraging this foundation to support exports, meet international demand efficiently, and drive our global growth strategy with confidence.
WCI: What core Indian manufacturing strengths differentiate you on the global stage? For what turnkey solutions is the world looking at India?
AJ: India’s manufacturing strengths are reflected in its ability to deliver robust engineering and cost-effective innovation. At AEI Machines, we bring over 55 years of experience in designing and manufacturing high performance stranding lines, making us a trusted and reliable partner for customers worldwide.
Our specialization in stranding technology, combined with proven machine durability, consistent output quality, and strong after-sales support, positions AEI Machines as a dependable source for complete stranding solutions. The global industry increasingly looks to companies like ours for turnkey stranding systems that offer long-term performance, efficiency, and international compliance.
WCI: Technology partnerships and acquisitions are critical today. How are Indo-global collaborations helping reinforce India’s engineering leadership?
AJ: Indo-global collaborations are playing a major role in strengthening India’s position as a technology- driven engineering leader. For AEI Machines, partnerships with international players expand our horizons and bring new perspectives that are fundamental to innovation.
Such collaborations create a strong pool of intellectual ideas that drive better engineering solutions, enhance global competitiveness, and foster an environment built on shared knowledge and a common commitment to advancing technology for the benefit of the global wire and cable industry.
WCI: Which international regions do you see as strategic growth markets, and how is India positioned as your global manufacturing base to support these expansions?
AJ: Internationally, we see strong strategic growth potential across Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, where demand continues to rise for both greenfield as well as brownfield projects. India serves as a powerful global manufacturing base due to its strong industrial ecosystem, proficient engineering capability, skilled workforce, favourable communication skills and time zone, and unique cost-to-quality advantage. Having a very strong support from Indian customers helps us learn and implement solutions quickly locally as also shields us from global demand shocks. We are leveraging this foundation to support exports, meet international demand efficiently, and drive our global growth strategy with confidence.
WCI: How are cost pressures across raw materials, energy, or logistics being managed without compromising product reliability or compliance?
AJ: With supply chains intertwined globally and frequent geopolitical events, cost pressures and logistics challenges are here to stay. However, these parameters affect all suppliers to the industry offering similar classes of equipment and ultimately customers are looking for overall cost of ownership rather than the most inexpensive equipment.
Our focus is to weather these challenges in the best possible way to offer a very competitive value proposition by offering ‘No Compromise’ solutions that focus on performance, efficiency and reliability. We concentrate on design optimization, selection of bought out parts that are known as the best in the market, tight tolerance machined parts, smart inventory planning and energy-efficient manufacturing practices. Our approach ensures customers receive equipment that remains durable, certified, and performance-consistent over its very long lifecycle.
WCI: How are sustainability expectations from customers or regulators translating into changes in product design, manufacturing practices, or material choices?
AJ: Sustainability is now a core requirement, not an option. Customers and regulators are driving demand for energy-efficient machinery, reduced waste in production, environment-friendly material choices and practices as well as longer lasting and recyclable components.
At AEI Machines we have always been integrating sustainable engineering practices into product development, improving energy performance, and supporting customers in building greener wire and cable manufacturing facilities aligned with global ESG standards.
