Gujarat engages with Reliance Industries Limited and international operators to host submarine cable landing stations, bolstering connectivity under IT/ITeS policy.

The Gujarat government is reviewing four proposals, including one from Reliance Industries Ltd, to set up submarine cable landing stations (CLS) along its coast, with two targeted for Saurashtra and two for South Gujarat under its IT/ITeS Policy 2022- 27. Alongside RIL, global firms like PCCW Global, Sparkle, Telecom Egypt, and ZOI Eye have expressed interest in landing segments of the AAE‑2 subsea cable system.

These CLS projects are pivotal for improving internet bandwidth, reducing latency, and enhancing data resilience. Under the policy, such initiatives are eligible for capital expenditure support up to INR 20 crore and power tariff subsidies of INR 1 per unit for five years.
