LAPP India has expanded its Bhopal manufacturing facility into the largest plant in its global production network, adding a state-of-the-art unit for low-voltage power cables.

The new facility, whose construction began in 2025 and became fully operational on August 27, 2026, is designed to manufacture LV power cables for industrial automation, commercial buildings, mobility, utilities and renewable energy applications. The expansion strengthens LAPP’s local manufacturing capabilities as demand rises from India’s infrastructure, energy and industrial sectors.

Established in 2012, the Bhopal facility has evolved from producing basic single-core cables to manufacturing multicore and solar cables, supported by in-house compounding capabilities and electron-beam (E-Beam) cross-linking technology. LAPP said the investment reflects its “in India for India” strategy, with India now serving as its second-largest market after Germany and an important contributor to the Group’s global growth.
