APAR Industries has secured the L1 position for a INR 981.56 crore KPTCL tender to establish a statewide Optical Ground Wire and IP-MPLS communication network across Karnataka, aimed at enhancing communication infrastructure for the state’s power transmission grid.

APAR Industries Limited has emerged as the L1 bidder for a INR 981.56 crore tender floated by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) for the establishment of a statewide Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) and Internet Protocol Multi-Protocol Label Switching (IP-MPLS) communication network under Part-I of the project. The tender was issued by KPTCL’s SLDC office in Bengaluru.

According to the tender details, KPTCL’s estimated project cost was INR 804.02 crore, while APAR Industries quoted INR 981.56 crore, placing it as the L1 bidder at around 22.08% above the estimated cost. The project includes OPGW installation and associated communication infrastructure, along with IP-MPLS network deployment, testing, commissioning and integration.
