Middle East-based subsea technologies and service provider JDR Cable Systems has secured a service contract from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for testing umbilical cables in the Middle East.

JDR Cable Systems, a prominent subsea technology and service provider, has secured a major contract from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to carry out testing of umbilical cables in the Middle East.

An umbilical cable is a multi-functional cable or bundle of cables, used to transmit power, data, and other fluids (like hydraulics or chemicals) to a subsea or remote system.

Under the agreement, JDR will test 14 umbilical cables across several offshore platforms, covering two primary scopes of work.

Scheduled to commence in the second quarter of this year, the project includes pre-deployment and integration testing, as well as close monitoring during cable laying operations. JDR will deploy offshore equipment and skilled technicians to oversee the installation, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the umbilicals.
