Powergrid Narela Transmission Limited (PNTL), a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), is likely to fully commission its interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme soon.

According to a recent report by Central Electricity Authority (CEA), PNTL is implementing a transmission system strengthening scheme for evacuation of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II, Part G.

The project has an estimated cost of INR 1,618 crore, and the project entails development of 408ckm of transmission lines and 4,500 MVA of transformation capacity.

The scheme is divided into seven components, denoted as “Part A” up to “Part G”, all being implemented under the TBCB framework. PGCIL has won all the seven components, five of which have been commissioned. Apart from Part G, the only other component yet to be commissioned is Part E, led by Powergrid Bhadla Sikar Transmission Limited, which is also nearing completion.
