Tata Power has commissioned the 400 kV Koteshwar–Rishikesh line, enabling smoother hydropower transmission and strengthening clean-energy delivery across northern India.

Tata Power has commissioned the 400 kV Koteshwar–Rishikesh transmission line, a key link enabling 1,000 MW of hydropower from the Tehri–Koteshwar complex to flow into major northern states. Developed under NRSS XXXVI Transmission Ltd, the project strengthens clean-energy transmission to Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and others.

Built through Himalayan terrain at altitudes above 1,800 metres, the line showcases Tata Power’s execution capabilities in difficult, eco-sensitive zones. This is the third commissioning under the NRSS initiative, after the 400 kV LILO Sikar–Neemrana Double Circuit line, and 400 kV LILO Babai–Bhiwani Double circuit line, taking the company’s operational and upcoming transmission network to 7,083 circuit kilometres nationwide.
