DICABS Charts Multi-Segment Capacity Expansion to Meet Growing Power Infrastructure Demand

The company is expanding capacities across cables and conductors to strengthen its position in power transmission, distribution and renewable energy markets.

DICABS has announced a capacity expansion programme across its cable and conductor businesses to cater to growing demand from power, infrastructure and clean energy sectors. The company plans to increase its low-voltage (LV) cable capacity from 34,300 circuit kilometres (CKM) to 52,300 CKM, significantly enhancing its manufacturing footprint.

In the medium- and high-voltage (MV/HV) cable segment, DICABS currently operates a capacity of 19,500 CKM and is undertaking further debottlenecking initiatives to improve throughput and efficiency. The company is also strengthening its extra-high-voltage (EHV) cable business, where existing capacity stands at 2,000 CKM, with additional MV and EHV production lines planned.

On the conductor side, DICABS has an installed capacity of 250,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) and is pursuing expansion focused on next-generation conductors, including high-ampacity and advanced transmission products designed for grid modernisation and renewable energy integration.

The expansion aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy and increasing opportunities arising from India’s investments in power transmission networks, data centres, urban infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
