Sterlite Technologies Approves INR 3,000 Crore Capex to Expand Manufacturing Capacity by 50%

Sterlite Technologies has approved a INR 3,000 crore capex plan to increase its manufacturing capacity by approximately 50 percent by FY29.

Sterlite Technologies Ltd (STL) has announced a INR 3,000 crore capital expenditure plan to expand capacity at its existing manufacturing facilities. The proposed expansion, approved by the company’s Board of Directors, is expected to increase STL’s installed manufacturing capacity by approximately 50 percent by the end of FY29.

The expansion is aimed at meeting anticipated growth in global demand for optical fibre cables and connectivity solutions while strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities. STL currently operates at around 70 percent capacity utilisation.

The proposed investment will be funded through internal accruals and/or debt. The company has not disclosed its existing manufacturing capacity, citing the commercially sensitive and competitive nature of the information.
