IndiGrid to Acquire INR 460 Crore Transmission Project in Northeast

IndiGrid has entered into definitive agreements to acquire the NERES XVI Power Transmission Limited project from Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd (TEECL) for up to INR 460 crore.

IndiGrid has entered into definitive agreements to acquire the NERES XVI Power Transmission Limited project from Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd (TEECL) for up to INR 460 crore.

The project located near IndiGrid’s existing assets in Northeast India, features a 400/220/132 kV substation with a transformation capacity of 1,400 MVA and includes a 45 km double-circuit transmission line. Commissioning is expected by December 2026, after which IndiGrid will acquire the asset, pending successful commercial operations and regulatory approvals.

“This acquisition furthers our strategy of disciplined growth through high-quality projects,” said Mr. Harsh Shah, Managing Director of IndiGrid. The move deepens the longstanding collaboration between IndiGrid and TEECL, who have previously worked together through asset acquisitions and EPC solutions.

IndiGrid currently owns a diversified portfolio that includes 53 transmission lines totaling over 9,336 circuit-kilometres, 16 substations with 25,050 MVA transformation capacity, 1.15 GW AC of solar generation capacity, and integrated 450 MW / 900 MWh battery energy storage systems, with assets under management exceeding INR 324 billion (USD 3.75 billion).
