LAPP Group welcomed HE Ajit Gupte, Ambassador of India to Germany, and Shatrughna Sinha, Consul General of India in Munich, to its European headquarters in Stuttgart. The delegation was received by Andreas Lapp, Honorary Consul of India for Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, along with senior executives from the company. The visit highlighted the growing industrial and economic ties between Germany and India and reflected the importance of India as a strategic market for the LAPP Group.

During the visit, the company leaders presented an overview of LAPP’s operations and its long-term engagement with India’s industrial ecosystem. The guided tour of the production facility and a  round‑table session focused on LAPP’s growth strategy in India, and the country’s crucial role in pushing for industry innovation and the newly launched LAPP IT Hub in Bangalore. 

Discussions also explored future growth opportunities and the role of technology partnerships in supporting industrial development. A key topic of conversation was the recently concluded EU-India Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to strengthen economic cooperation between the two regions. The agreement aims to reduce tariffs, streamline regulatory requirements and facilitate smoother trade flows between European and Indian businesses. 

Over the past three decades, the company has built a strong local footprint, and today, it is one of our most important markets worldwide. Mr. Sumit Mitra, Managing Director of LAPP India, highlighted the country’s growing importance within the company’s global strategy. He emphasized that India is not only a key market for LAPP but also a centre of excellence for innovation and talent. The continued investment reflects the company’s commitment to supporting India’s industrial growth and contributing to the development of advanced industrial technologies.
