Navank has introduced Wanma’s UL-approved QMTT2 moisture-curable XLPE compound in India, offering cable manufacturers a compliant material option for UL 44 and UL 854 constructions.
Sep 21, 2026

Navank, working with its sourcing partner Zhejiang Wanma Macromolecule Material Group Co. Ltd (Wanma), announced a significant compliance milestone for the Indian wire and cable industry. UL Solutions has completed its investigation of Wanma’s QMTT2 moisture-curable cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation compound and confirmed compliance with UL Mark requirements. The notice of completion is dated 21 September 2026 (UL File E498041, Volume 2).

What has been approved
QMTT2 has been evaluated for use in two key UL standards: UL 44: Thermoset-insulated wires and cables; UL 854: Service-entrance cables (single-layer insulation).
The compound also carries the following ratings:
| Rating | What it means |
|---|---|
| -40°C | Cold-bend performance for low-temperature environments |
| 720 SR | 720 hours of sunlight resistance for outdoor exposure |
| Oil II | Resistance to oil exposure |
| VW-1 | Vertical-wire flame test performance |
| CT | Suitable for cable tray use |
Why it matters for Indian manufacturers
Indian cable makers increasingly supply export markets and projects that specify UL-listed constructions. Navank has seen this trend build, with solar and other UL-type cables driving strong demand for Wanma’s XLPE materials, and with customers in other segments turning to US and UK exports as manufacturing shifts from China to India. QMTT2 gives manufacturers a moisture-curable XLPE option built for UL 44 and UL 854 constructions, backed by UL Solutions’ review. Its outdoor, cold-weather and flame-performance ratings suit demanding applications, including:
Each of QMTT2’s ratings maps directly to a demanding application. For solar and wind installations, the cables offer 720 hours of sunlight resistance and -40°C cold-bend performance for exposed, all-weather conditions. In industrial plants, Oil II resistance and cable tray (CT) suitability support factory and process environments. For EV charging applications, VW-1 flame performance is suited to public and commercial charging infrastructure, while UL 854 coverage addresses cables used for utility service entrances that bring power into buildings.

“Indian cable manufacturers are winning more export and UL-specified projects, and they need insulation compounds that meet those requirements. UL Solutions’ completion of its investigation of QMTT2 gives our customers a moisture-curable XLPE option for UL 44 and UL 854 constructions. We are proud to bring it to India with Wanma,” said Naval Singhal, Director & Chief Business Officer, Navank.
Navank has brought insulation and sheathing compounds from Wanma and has been Wanma’s OEM partner since 2015. QMTT2 extends a range that already covers XLPE, silane XLPE, semiconductive, LSZH and PVC compounds, so cable makers can source UL-grade insulation from the same partner they use for the rest of their compound needs.
