The project includes approximately 270 km of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Halvad and Vadodara, along with additional works at the Halvad, Vadodara and South Olpad substations. The infrastructure forms part of a wider transmission system designed to evacuate nearly 14 GW of renewable power from the Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar regions.
The project covers power evacuation associated with Lakadia Phase II (7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya Phase II (5.5 GW) and Jamnagar Phase I (1 GW). It is expected to strengthen grid connectivity and support the integration of renewable energy into India’s national transmission network.
Lakadia A Power Transmission Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) transferred by Power Finance Corporation Consulting Ltd to AnantGrid Projects One Private Limited (AGPOPL), which is jointly owned by Bajel Projects (26%) and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) (74%). The project developer secured the transmission project through the tariff-based competitive bidding process in August 2026.
