Finolex Cables Limited has announced a INR 300-crore capex plan for FY27, including INR 200 crore for new capacity additions and INR 100 crore towards completing its optical fibre expansion project.

The company has commissioned its optical fibre preform plant and is on track to double fibre draw capacity from 4 million to 8 million fibre kilometres by Q2 FY27. It expects benefits from the expansion to start reflecting in the second half of the year.

Finolex will also double its solar cable capacity after witnessing strong demand and near-full utilization of existing facilities. Additionally, its EHV cable joint venture with Sumitomo Electric has turned profitable, prompting plans to evaluate further capacity expansion.

The investments are aimed at capitalizing on growing demand from data centers, AI-driven infrastructure, renewable energy projects and power transmission networks.
