In its Q1 FY27 earnings conference call, Polycab India reported that its wires & cables business sustained strong growth, leveraging its market leadership and robust execution capabilities. The segment recorded a 39 percent year-on-year growth, while the domestic wires & cables business outperformed with an impressive 43 percent year-on-year growth.

Highlighting emerging opportunities in optical fibre cable, the company estimated the OFC market at INR 20,000–25,000 crore over the next 6–8 years, driven primarily by the rapid expansion of data centres. Polycab has already supplied cables for data centre projects of Vodafone Idea across Mohali, Pune, and southern India.

The company also pointed to the strong outlook for the power transmission sector. It noted that the average annual transmission line capacity addition increased from approximately 15,000 circuit kilometres during FY20–FY25 and is expected to rise to 20,000–21,000 circuit kilometres annually during FY26–FY30, as per CEA. Around 2,000 circuit kilometres have already been executed during April and May 2026, supported by transmission projects worth nearly INR 24,000 crore.

On the infrastructure front, Polycab shared that the BharatNet project has an overall order book of approximately INR 8,000 crore, of which INR 4,500 crore pertains to the execution of new infrastructure over a three-year period. The company expects nearly one-third of the execution value to be recognised as revenue with this scheme, with INR 800–1,000 crore likely to be contributed to the revenue during the current fiscal.

Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), Polycab has secured an order book of around INR 3,250 crore. With execution also spread over three years, the company expects approximately INR 800 crore of revenue from RDSS in FY27. Together, BharatNet and RDSS contribute a combined order book of nearly INR 10,900 crore, providing strong revenue visibility over the coming years.
