In an exclusive interaction with Wire & Cable India, Mr. Vikas Yadav, Chief Marketing Officer, Vikas Spool Private Limited, shares that India is capable of delivering high-volume, consistent-quality packaging solutions for critical wire and cable applications, backed by strong manufacturing depth and reliable supply capabilities. Vikas Yadav: At WIRE Düsseldorf 2026, Vikas Spool will showcase its range of plastic and steel reels developed specifically for the wire and cable industry. A key focus will be our 100% recycled ABS plastic spools. These are accurate in dimensions, balanced and provide dependable strength for fine metal wires.
Our participation will highlight India’s capability to combine scale manufacturing with responsible material usage, supported by in-house recycling, strong process control, and the ability to develop new spool designs quickly based on customer requirements.

WCI: Over the years, how have you seen India’s representation evolve at international trade fairs, and how do you contribute to strengthening India’s image as a global engineering hub?
VY: India’s presence has grown from being primarily cost-driven to being capability-driven. More Indian companies now present engineered products rather than only commodities. We contribute by demonstrating that India can deliver high-volume, consistent-quality packaging solutions for critical wire and cable applications, supported by strong manufacturing depth and dependable delivery.

At Vikas Spool, we offer standard as well as customised spool and reel solutions – from design and material selection to moulding, testing, and supply – allowing wire and cable manufacturers to reduce packaging costs without compromising on performance.

India serves as our global manufacturing base due to its strong industrial ecosystem, availability of skilled workforce, and cost competitiveness. From India, we can supply large volumes of standardized as well as customized spools to multiple geographies.
WCI: How are cost pressures across raw materials, energy, or logistics being managed without compromising product reliability or compliance?
VY: Our in-house recycling facility provides strong control over material quality and cost. High-volume processing of polymers, efficient plant layout, and long-term supplier relationships help manage cost volatility while maintaining consistent quality and batch traceability.
WCI: How are sustainability expectations from customers or regulators translating into changes in product design, manufacturing practices, or material choices?
VY: Sustainability is integral to our operations. We manufacture almost 80% of our spools using 100% recycled polymers, operate a 1100-kW rooftop solar plant, and run a zero-liquid-discharge campus. These initiatives help us reduce environmental impact while delivering reliable products that meet customer expectations.
