Hindustan Zinc Limited has appointed Mr. Amarendu Prakash, former Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Hindustan Zinc Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Amarendu Prakash as its new CEO. He will take charge from August 1, 2026, succeeding Mr. Arun Misra. Mr. Prakash brings extensive experience in the metals and mining sector, having previously served as Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). During his tenure at SAIL, he led the company’s operations, strategic initiatives and growth programmes.

With his industry experience, Prakash is expected to guide Hindustan Zinc’s next phase of growth, focusing on operational excellence, expansion initiatives and strengthening the company’s position in the global zinc and silver markets.
