KEC International Ltd. has signed a contract with Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) for the construction of 177 km of 400 kV, 132 kV and 66 kV transmission lines under the Eastern Ethiopia Grid Reinforcement Project (EEGRP).

The contract marks KEC International’s second consecutive EPC project in Ethiopia within the past six months, further strengthening its presence in the country’s power infrastructure sector. During the contract-signing ceremony, EEP Chief Executive Officer Ashebir Balcha congratulated KEC on the award and acknowledged the progress made on its first 132 kV transmission line project.

Mr. Balcha also highlighted the importance of timely project execution and quality delivery. The new project is expected to support Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand its power transmission infrastructure.
