Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd gets green nod for a 2 million tonnes per annum integrated steel plant, advancing expansion in Raipur district.

Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd (GPIL) has received environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for establishing a 2 million tonnes per annum integrated steel plant at village Sarora, Tahsil Tilda, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The approval was granted during the 7th meeting of the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) on July 9, 2025, with details released on July 16.
The upcoming facility will comprise two modules of 1 million TPA each, aligning with GPIL’s vision to scale its operations and reinforce its role in India’s growing steel industry. The project is expected to significantly boost the regional economy and steel capacity upon completion.
