Adani Enterprises and IRH will jointly invest INR 1.08 lakh crore to develop a greenfield aluminium project, creating over 53,500 jobs.

Adani Enterprises Ltd. and International Resources Holding (IRH), an IHC Group company, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Odisha government to develop an integrated greenfield aluminium project worth INR 1.08 lakh crore (USD 11.5 billion).

The project will be executed through a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and IRH and will be developed in two phases, involving investments of INR 66,000 crore and INR 44,000 crore. The integrated complex will include a 4 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) alumina refinery, a 2 MMTPA aluminium smelter, a 4,000 MW captive power plant, and a 1 MMTPA downstream manufacturing park with supporting infrastructure.

According to the company, the proposal is expected to be Odisha’s largest foreign direct investment (FDI) and India’s largest FDI in the metallurgy sector. The downstream manufacturing park is expected to attract industries catering to transport, construction, power, packaging, renewable energy, and advanced engineering, while supporting the growth of MSMEs in the state.
