KEC International Ltd. has successfully energised the 765 kV Double Circuit Koppal–Raichur Transmission Line under the Koppal-II & Gadag-II Renewable Energy Zone (Phase-A) Scheme in Karnataka. The transmission corridor will enable the immediate evacuation of 2 GW of renewable energy, with the capacity to support up to 8 GW as renewable generation expands. The project strengthens the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), facilitating greater integration of clean energy into the national grid and supporting India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
