Tata Power has announced an INR 15,000 crore transmission network expansion plan for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The expansion project includes the development of a 400 kV transmission network across Mumbai in a ring topology and includes 18 new substations.

The key nodes of the ring network include Vikhroli, Dharavi, Mahalaxmi, Sewri, and Trombay. Additionally, the company will double its capacity of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) from 100 MW to 200 MW by FY27 to ensure green power uninterrupted green power distribution in the region.
