Takkar Polychem Private Limited (TPPL) is one of the leading manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of specialized compounds and masterbatches. With an installed capacity of over 18,000 TPA, the company offers specialized products like ZHFR/LSZH compounds, RoHs 2.0 and 3.0 compliant PVC and PE compounds & masterbatches, anti-rodent, anti-termite and UV compounds and masterbatches. TPPL also houses a state-of-the-art R&D facility for the testing of raw materials and finished products and also gets products tested from international labs. In a recent interaction with Wire & Cable India, Deepak Takkar, Managing Director – Takkar Polychem Private Limited, spoke about the company’s achievements, product portfolio and upcoming products, TPPL’s USPs, the company’s current market presence as well as the potential of the Indian wires and cables market.

Wire & Cable India: Could you give us a brief overview of your company, outlining its major achievements?

Deepak Takkar: Takkar Polychem Private Limited (TPPL) is a professionally managed firm, driven by the underlying principle of “Service through Quality and Innovation”. TPPL is an ISO 9001:2015 and CE certified company and we have an installed capacity of more than 18,000 TPA. We are constantly adopting new technologies, raw materials for the latest and better products for our customers. We have a state-of-the-art and well-equipped R&D facility for the testing of our raw materials and finished products. We also get our products tested from international labs such as SGS India Private Limited, UL India Private Limited, Intertek India Private Limited, among others. We have more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing compounds and masterbatches. We have a rich data bank of over 1000 shades to choose from and are in line with international standards like RAL and Pantone.

WCI: Kindly give us a walkthrough of your product portfolio, along with your upcoming products.

DT: The specialized products offered by Takkar Polychem are ZHFR/LSZH compounds; silicon masterbatches for XLPE, ZHFR and XLPO compounds; UL 85 and 1050 C compounds; RoHs 2.0 and 3.0 compliant PVC and PE compounds & masterbatches; anti-rodent, anti-termite and UV compounds and masterbatches; HR, HRFR, AV/AVS/AVSS, FLRY-B PVC compounds. In terms of new product developments, we have started manufacturing silicon-based masterbatches for XLPE, ZHFR and XLPO compounds.

WCI: What according to you are the USPs of your company, setting it apart from others in the industry?

DT: We manufacture 100% RoHs compliant and Phthalate-free material for MNCs in automotive OEM, electrical appliances, consumer products, medical consumables, and house wiring and cables and are an ISO 9001:2015 and CE certified company. Our company’s USP is that we ensure quality control during raw material procurement, consistent manufacturing processes, rigorous testing and continuous improvement, in order to achieve the topmost quality products, meeting all our customer requirements. Quality assurance is our top priority as a compound masterbatch manufacturer to ensure that we deliver consistent, high-quality products to their customers. WCI: Could you please emphasize on your company’s current market presence? What are Takkar Polychem’s further growth plans?

DT: India is one of the largest manufacturers of PVC compounds in the world, and there is significant growth potential for Indian PVC compound manufacturers to expand their business to various countries. We are currently supplying our products pan-India and are exporting to the Middle Eastern, South Asian countries and African countries, and intend to increase our supply to these regions.

WCI: Please give your insights on the potential of the Indian wires and cables industry.

DT: Wires and cables have significant potential in India, as they are an essential component of the country’s infrastructure and industrial growth. India is a rapidly growing economy, and the demand for power, data transmission, and communication is increasing at an unprecedented rate. As a result, the wire and cable industry is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. The demand for wires and cables in India is driven by various factors such as rapid urbanization, government initiatives to provide electricity to all households, growing telecommunications industry, and increasing demand for automation in industries. The Indian government has launched several initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, and Smart Cities to promote industrial growth, digitization, and urbanization, which is expected to increase the demand for wires and cables. Moreover, the Indian wire and cable industry is highly fragmented, and there is ample scope for new players to enter the market. The industry is dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, and there is a considerable opportunity for consolidation and scale-up. Additionally, the industry is witnessing a shift towards high-quality and eco-friendly products, which is creating new opportunities for innovative companies.
