Tata Power has successfully commissioned the second element of its Jalpura-Khurja Transmission Project in Uttar Pradesh, comprising a 162 circuit km 400 kV double-circuit transmission line and a 1,000 MVA 400/220 kV GIS substation to strengthen power connectivity across NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Tata Power has commissioned the second element of its Jalpura-Khurja Transmission Project in Uttar Pradesh through its wholly owned subsidiary, TP Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Limited (TPJKPTL). The project comprises a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line from Khurja to Jalpura, spanning 162 Circuit Kilometres (CKM), and a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Jalpura with 1,000 MVA transformation capacity.

The 162 CKM transmission corridor consists of two circuits of approximately 81 km each, establishing a high-voltage link between Khurja and Jalpura to facilitate power transmission towards NCR and Noida. The GIS substation will enable power transfer from the 400 kV grid to the 220 kV network, supporting growing regional demand and enhancing transmission reliability.

The commissioning strengthens Tata Power’s transmission infrastructure in NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh and supports the development of a robust and future-ready power grid. With this addition, Tata Power’s transmission portfolio now stands at 7,900 circuit kilometres of lines operational and under execution across India, reinforcing its role in the country’s power transmission network.
