Tata Power Signs MoU with Russia for Energy Investment

The company has an installed generation capacity of 8669 MW in India

Tata Power, on December 24, signed a memorandum of understanding with ministry of development of Russian Far East, Government of Russian Federation, to explore and develop investment opportunities in energy sector.

As per this MoU, Russian government will cooperate with and support Tata Power at all stages of investment projects, including assisting company’s communications with federal and regional authorities, state-owned companies and private sector.

The company has an installed generation capacity of 8669 MW in India. It has public-private partnerships in generation, transmission and distribution in India namely Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited with Delhi Vidyut Board for distribution in North Delhi, Powerlinks Transmission with Power Grid Corporation of India for evacuation of Power from Tala hydro plant in Bhutan to Delhi and Maithon Power with Damodar Valley Corporation for a 1050 MW Mega Power Project at Jharkhand.
