Increased Production with Improved Machines

Set to expand its infrastructure in the form of a new plant in Faridabad, Cab Device is looking forward to create some novel machines for the wire and cable industry to improve both quality and production capacity.

Cab DeviceCab Device Industries, a well-known wire and cable machinery manufacturer, has been supplying its much appreciated line of machines such as wire annealing machine, tin coating plant (electro plating & hot dip), and induction preheaters. The company makes these machines in different types as per various applications or customer requirements for manufacturing of domestic wire, super enamel wire, submersible winding wire, instrumentation wire, control cable, communication cable, rubber cable and power cable.

The company is an indigenous machine maker and supplies not only to domestic market, but to other countries such as UK, Gulf countries, India’s neighboring countries, and African countries.

Cab Device has recently launched two new products – an aluminum wire annealing machine (for single wires, multiple wires, and bunched wires) and a single wire tin electroplating machine. The company is also planning to expand its infrastructure in the form of a new plant in Faridabad. Wire & Cable India recently interviewed Mr. Abhishek Chhabra, Business Development Manager, Cab Device Industries. Excerpts:

Wire & Cable India: To start with, can you brief us about your company?

Abhishek Chhabra: Cab Device Industries has established itself as one of the India’s leading names in the field of wire and cable making machinery with its promise of quality products that stay ahead of time. The trade name “Cable Device” is known in the market.

The innovative approach has helped the company gain prominence in manufacturing of wire and cable machinery as annealing machine, tin coating plant (electro plating and hot dip) and induction preheaters which are available in different types for uses based on application or customer requirement for premier manufacturers of domestic wire, super enamel wire, submersible winding wire, instrumentation wire, control cable, communication cable, rubber cable, and power cable.

We were established in the year 1992 with the aim of indigenization of imported equipment of cable and wire machinery. We manufacture and supply a wide range of cable and wire machinery in India and other countries as well for e.g. U. K., Gulf countries, Bangladesh, Nepal, African countries (Botswana, Cape Town, Nigeria, Nairobi, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia) and others.

The start of the company was the result of an initiation and vision of Mr. M. L. Chhabra, a self-made entrepreneur. His vision is to provide high quality wire annealing and tinning machines to customers with strong customer service back-up in mind. As the company settled in the domestic market and rapidly began getting recognized in wire industry in India, it took upon the task of catering the international market with the best of machines with reasonable cost.

WCI: Share with us some recent developments on process and product sides.

AC: Our development is ongoing process for every machine, which we manufacturer, whether it’s copper wire annealing machine, tin electroplating or induction pre-heaters. Along with this, we launched two new products. First is annealing machine, i.e. aluminum wire annealing machine for single wires, multiple wires, and bunched wires; it all can customize as per customer requirement. Second is single wire tin electroplating machine in which we can redraw tinned copper wire further into fine wire sizes as per requirement.

WCI: Are there any recent or planned capacity expansion, new machinery added or to be added and any major rebuild done/planned?

AC: Our organization is situated within the industrial estate of Faridabad. Also, we are planning to expand our plant infrastructure by constructing a new plant in IMT Faridabad, Sector 68, Greater Faridabad.

WCI: What are the major developments on R&D side at your company? Tell us something about the R&D facility that you have.

AC: Cab Device has a dedicated team of highly experienced engineers and technicians having years of experience in manufacturing high tolerance machines. All the machined parts are manufactured in-house at the fully equipped state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing unit, using the best available materials and workshop practices to guarantee highest levels of quality.

The company is investing in R&D and improvement of existing procedures to further accelerate growth and trigger excellence. So, the expectations of customers are increasing not just for products, but also for solutions in terms of technology behind the origin of the product. The company’s approach to this change is to meet both the requirements and that too with unique expertise, superseding client’s expectation.

WCI: Tell us about your overall experience of exhibiting at Wire Mumbai 2016?

AC: Just like always meeting of many people at single place; it’s perfect. We received enquiries not only from India, but also from overseas. So, overall it was a very good experience.

WCI: What are your views on emerging trends in the wire industry, in both domestic as well as global markets?

AC: In domestic and global wire industries, upgrading their production capacity by improved machines will enhance quality of the product produced.
