Miyazaki: Japan’s Leading Manufacturer of Wire Forming Machines

Founded in 1945, Miyazaki Machinery Systems Company Limited pledges to produce products of the highest quality and commit themselves to complete customer satisfaction around the world. With a workforce of 160 and 50 advanced machineries, the company manufactures wire forming and processing machines-, wire drawing, combined drawing and cable stranding machines, for wire, steel, rope and cable manufacturers, in Japan and abroad. Their motto is to always take the initiative, conduct all work in the spirit of cooperation, and honor the obligation to serve the customer. In a recent interaction with Wire & Cable India, Mr. Kazuaki Miyazaki, President, Miyazaki, talked about the company, product portfolio, business roadmap, and their future market expansion plans in India.

Wire & Cable India: Please tell us about your company and its history.

Kazuaki Miyazaki: Located in Kaizuka city near Kansai International Airport, our company manufactures and sells wire-forming machines and other industrial machinery to customers in Japan and abroad. The history of our company began around 1600 as “Kajiya Giroemon”(Jiroemon the Blacksmith), and in 1945, the first president, Jiichi Miyazaki, established “Miyazaki Iron Works Co.” Starting with wire rope equipment, the company has also been involved in electric wire and cable, special steel, iron wire, shaft production equipment, as well as glass manufacturing equipment. In 2005, the company name was changed to “Miyazaki Machinery Systems Co. Ltd.,” and we are striving to improve our structure and manufacture good products while overcoming difficult circumstances.

WCI: Cast some light on the infrastructure setup at your facility, product portfolio, and major clientele.

KM: The Miyazaki plant boasts a dedicated workforce of 160 employees who work in harmony with approximately 50 advanced machineries. We manufacture wire forming wire drawing, combined drawing and cable stranding machines, for wire, steel, rope and cable manufacturers, in Japan and abroad.

WCI: What is your USP?

KM: Our products have been designed and built to meet the very strict standards of Japanese automotive manufacturers and wire manufacturers for nearly 80 years. This achievement is a result of combining and building upon the expertise we have gained from our Japanese customers. We have been manufacturing wire processing machines for not only normal steel but also various materials such as special steel, SUS, copper, and aluminum for over 70 years. In addition to wire processing machines, we also manufacture a wide variety of industrial machines, including LCD displays and ceramic rolls.

WCI: How does the company stay ahead of the competition?

KM: At our core, we are driven by four key principles that define our approach to business- technological innovation, emphasis on quality, customer orientation, and global expansion.

WCI: What are your vision and plans for your company’s future? Do you have any specific plans for the Indian market?

KM: Our vision for the future is to achieve sustainable growth through innovation and to establish leadership in the global industrial machinery market. With a focus on product innovation, quality improvement, and providing value to our customers, we aim to become a company that is trusted by customers around the world. For the Indian market, we are planning to aggressively expand our presence, especially to Japanese companies. India is experiencing rapid industrial development and demand for high-quality products is increasing to meet this demand, We would like to actively expand our wire-forming machines with the high-quality standards we have developed in Japan.
