TenetT has awarded multi-year contracts to 8 companies manufacturing high tension (HT) wires. The total value of the contracts is EUR 1.5 billion. TenetT is aiming to spend EUR 100 billion in the next decade on onshore and offshore electric grids.

TenneT has awarded multi-year contracts worth EUR 1.5 billion to 8 companies building HT wires, Brugg Kabel (Switzerland), LS Cable & System (South Korea), Taihan, (South Korea), NKT GmbH & Co KG (Germany), Suedkabel GmhH (Germany), Prysmian (the Netherlands), TKF (the Netherlands), and TBEA Shandong Luneng Taishan Cable Co. Limited (China).

TenneT intends to spend about EUR 100 billion in the coming decade for the construction of onshore and offshore electric grids to drive increasing replacement of fossil-based electricity for renewable-based electricity.
